At the UKFT Sustainability Conference in London, we launched our groundbreaking, industry-backed White Paper with support from UKFT, British Fashion Council, the British Retail Consortium and several luxury, fashion and retail brands.
In the White Paper we urge the Government to implement a textiles variable Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees scheme immediately to enable a more circular economy and create a variable EPR textile scheme that works for everyone in the UK fashion and textiles sector.
It builds on the results of our recent sandbox project which set out to revolutionise fashion sustainability by analysing extensive producer data to support circular eco-modulation of fees.
“We see this work as a rare, game-changing opportunity to transform the way clothing is designed and produced and the way individuals consume clothing and accessories. The potential impact is immense, and the risks of inaction are equally significant. This is the moment for the government to take decisive leadership. The evidence is clear, and the time for bold action is now.”
